On December 6, 2018 in Milan, Italy, the Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by H.E. Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin Minister of Foreign Affairs took part in the 25th session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
During the meeting, the heads of official delegations from 57 participating states and 11 OSCE partner countries have exchanged views on the main items of the meeting agenda, including issues of cooperation within the framework of three dimensions of the Organization, inter alia measures to strengthen interaction in addressing current problems and challenges.
During his speech, the Head of Tajik delegation has elaborated on the position of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan regarding the key issues of cooperation within the OSCE, in particular, on the need to take joint measures for strengthening security in the OSCE area. The Minister highlighted the importance of fighting against terrorism and extremism, as well as enhancing border security in order to prevent illicit trafficking in drugs, weapons and human beings.
In view of the crisis in confidence and trust among participating states, the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan has called on the OSCE participating States to refrain from pursuing a policy of double standards in addressing the current issues.
