On 20 January 2021, the first round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Sultanate of Oman was held in the format of a videoconference. The delegations of the parties were headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Khusrav Noziri and the Under Secretary for Diplomatic Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy.
The sides discussed issues related to the current state and prospects for development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Oman in political, economic, trade, investment, energy, tourism, agriculture, industry, air communication areas, as well as strengthening the legal basis, cooperation of the two countries in the framework of international and regional organizations and other issues of mutual interest.
The sides noted the importance of establishing high-level contacts and exchange of visits in the development of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of the Executive Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries for the period 2020-2022, which was signed during the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan to Muscat on 19 December 2019.
