Meeting of the Ambassador with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia

On September 21, 2022, at the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia in Ashgabat, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Farrukh Sharifzoda met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Ms. Natalya German.

During the meeting, the Ambassador of Tajikistan informed in detail the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia about the recent tragic events and casualties on the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Also during the meeting, the parties exchanged views on current issues and prospects for the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and UNRCCA, as well as preparations for a high-level international conference on the topic “International and Regional Border Security and Management Cooperation to Counter Terrorism and Prevent the Movement of Terrorists” (Dushanbe, Tajikistan October 18-19, 2022) within the framework of the “Dushanbe Counter-Terrorism Process”.
