In Ashgabat, an article on high-level events in Tajikistan, held within the framework of the International year of glaciers’ preservation was published

April 26, 2025, in the daily issue of the main state newspaper of Turkmenistan “Neutral Turkmenistan”, an article by the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Ashgabat, entitled “Tajikistan, is preparing for a high-level Forum”, dedicated to the initiative of the Tajikistan for the glaciers’ preservation and with information about international high-level events, which are planned as part of this initiative, was published.

The article indicates the background of unanimous support for the initiative of the Founder of peace and National unity – the Leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon about adoption on December 14, 2022, the Resolution of United Nation’s General Assembly, regarding the announcement of 2025 as “International year of glaciers’ preservation”, March 21st as a “International day of glaciers” and the establishment of a UN Trust Fund in support of activities for glaciers’ preservation.

Also, the article contains comprehensive information about the dates, goals and expected results of the upcoming International high-level conference of preservation of glaciers’ preservation, which will be held this year on May 29-31 in Dushanbe city.
