Ashgabat celebrated "World Football Day"
On May 25, 2025, a solemn ceremony was held in the city of Ashgabat, dedicated to World Football Day, in which they took part
Representatives of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Vafo Niyatbekzoda, as well as representatives of the Embassy of Tajikistan and students of Turkmen Football Federation’s Academy.
With welcoming words, the event was opened by the representative of Football Federation of Turkmenistan and Ambassador of Tajikistan, congratulating the participants on this important event in the football calendar.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Tajikistan especially noted the constructive role of football in society and interstate dialogue, and also informed about the history of the launching World Football Day, which was approved by adopting the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly dated May 7, 2024, on the initiative of the President of the Central Asian Football Association, President of the Tajik Football Federation, Chairman of Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Head of Dushanbe, respected Rustami Emomali.
After the opening ceremony, participant played a friendly match.
