2001: Graduated from Russian-Tajik Slavonic University, Dushanbe, Tajikistan,  International Relations Specialist;

2002 – 2014:  Specialist; Leading Specialist; Chief  Specialist; Deputy Head of the Department  of  Foreign Policy Analysis and Forecasting of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan;

2014 – 2016:  Deputy Head of the Information, Press, Analysis and Foreign Policy Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan;

From 2015 to May 2023: National Coordinator for Afghanistan under the collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Ministerial Council;

2016 – 2020: Head of the Information, Press, Analysis and Foreign Policy Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan;

From 2020 to May 2023: Head of Strategic Studies Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan;

From May 31, 2023: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan.

Scientific activity: has more than 50 publications in domestic and foreign scientific literature (with an emphasis on Tajikistan, Central Asia, Russia, China, the USA and the EU (geopolitics, security issues, domestic politics and foreign economic relations).

Vafo Niyatbekzoda speaks Russian and English languages;

Married, has 3 children.
