Presentation of Tajikistan at a sports event in Magdeburg

On 13 July 2024 in the city of Magdeburg (Germany) in a solemn atmosphere with the participation of the President of the Parliament of the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt Dr. Gunnar Schellenberger, ambassadors of several foreign countries and representatives of the media a horse race for the prize of the Republic of Tajikistan was held.

The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Germany in cooperation with the "German Global Trade Forum Berlin", the business network “Friends of the H4 Racing Club Entrepreneurs' Network” and the company "Wettstar" sponsored the 1300 metre race. The winners were awarded with monetary prizes and presents.

The event attracted more than 3,000 spectators, including representatives of the commercial, economic, political, cultural and business circles of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt.

The motto of the competition was "Welcome to the Roof of the World. Seeing, Discovering and Enjoying Tajikistan" allowed the participants to learn more about Tajikistan, especially about its tourism potential and opportunities.

In his speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Germany, Imomudin Sattorov urged the audience to visit Tajikistan, get acquainted with the ancient history and culture of the Tajiks, and establish economic and trade cooperation.

At the same time, the Tajik diplomat noted that in Tajikistan such competitions timed to coincide with holidays have the status of a national sport. It was also pointed out that in recent years horse racing has become increasingly popular, and thanks to the efforts of the capital's executive authorities, the city of Dushanbe has become a developed centre for this sport and enjoys special attention from its admirers.

During the event, Ambassador I. Sattorova of Tajikistan also had a conversation with the President of the Landtag (State Parliament) of Saxony-Anhalt, Mr. Gunnar Schellenberger.
