Consideration of the Tajik-German cooperation for development

In the run-up to the Tajik-German intergovernmental consultations, to be held in Dushanbe this year, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Germany Gayratsho Sohibnazar met with the Co-chairman of the German part of the Commission on financial and technical cooperation Katrin Olers and the representative of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Klaus Tansberger.

At the meeting the parties paid a special attention to the realization of the project on construction of hydro power plant in Murgab region and noted the necessity to continue bilateral cooperation in such areas as developing of hydro energy, improving of medical care and providing better access to education with the aim to improve the social welfare of the population.

The German party informed that the opportunity of financing of construction of small hydro power plants in mountain regions of Tajikistan is under consideration at the moment, and that involvement of national companies in realization of such projects is mostly welcomed.

The parties also discussed the Agenda of the forthcoming consultations and exchanged their views on a number of issues related to the sustainable development.
