Presentation of tourist potential of Tajikistan at a meeting with representatives of German media

Due to declaration of years 2019-2021 as the years of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts, and with the aim to present achievements of the Government the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan with cooperation of Association of tourist journalists of Germany CTOUR held a joint event dedicated to the opportunities of tourism in Tajikistan. More than 50 journalists – members of the beforementioned Association, representatives of relevant authorities and tour operators of Germany participated in the event.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Germany in his speech having noted the main efforts of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the sphere of tourism development and futher rural infrostructure enhancement,  explained to participants the commitments of the Leadership of the country aimed at enhancing economic indicators and improving wellbeing of the population.

 The Association of tourist journalists of Germany consists of more than 200 professional journalists, blogers and freelancers who regularly cover news on world tourism in magazines and newspapers, as well as in social network. Chairman of the Association Mr. Hans-Peter Gaul during his speech noted that the main goal of this kind of joint events is to increase interest of information services of Germany to the tourism opportunities of Tajikistan.

During the exchange of views Sohibnazar Gayratsho answered different questions of journalists that were related to tourism development in the country.

Journalists expressed interest in publishing media materials about tourism in Tajikistan in different media sources.  

The Ambassador of Tajikistan encouraged journalists to reflect real facts about the country and efforts of the Government of Tajikistan in this sphere.

It should be noted that as the winter months are over the interest of travellers to new tourist destinations increases. For instance, only in January 2019 more than 80 thousand citizens visited the official website of the Embassy with the purpose to receive information about the country. Tourist agencies of Tajikistan will participate in the International trade fair ITB Berlin 2019, to be held next month.
