Opening of the Tennis Palace and water sports complex in Dushanbe

Today, in the presence of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took place the grand opening of the sports facility "Tennis Palace and Water Sports Complex" in Dushanbe city.

"Since ancient times, the Tajik people have been famous for their youthful and heroic rituals, and we are proud that today's youth faithfully continue the traditions of their glorious ancestors. As the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon stated on his opening speech that investing in the development of youth and athletes, creating the best conditions for them is an investment in a successful future of the fatherland as well as the progress of the nation.

The Palace of Tennis and Water Sports in Dushanbe opened today, is one of the largest sports complexes in the country and the best gift for youth, athletes and sports fans on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence.

The complex consists of a tennis court with 3000 seats and an underground garage with 280 seats, a water sports palace with 2000 seats, an outdoor pool with 285 seats and 27 lifts as well as the eight tennis courts. Each of them will be designed for 1000 seats.

The water sports palace is built on an area of ​​about 22 thousand square meters and consist of three floors.

On the first floor, there are four swimming pools for various types of water exercises as well as the children's pool, which each of them is built in accordance with international standards. On the second and third floors of the building, there are halls for various events and other ancillary facilities.

There is also an outdoor pool next to the Aquatics Palace, which is suitable for summer swimming competitions. This facility was built on a total area of ​​about 8 thousand square meters for 288 seats and is designed for four types of water sports.

The five-story tennis palace has three tennis courts such as wrestling halls, general sports, and training facilities on 42,000 square meters.

It is necessary to mentioned that the project of the complex was agreed with the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and all the proposals and recommendations of the above-mentioned organization were taken into account.

The complex is equipped with special equipment for live television broadcasting of video recordings of national as well as for the international competitions. It fully complies with the requirements of international standards and provides an opportunity for holding not only national but also regional and global competitions.
