A SOURCE OF GREEN ENERGY IN THE HEART OF MOUNTAINS

  Оn September 22, 2020, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon put into operation the first two blocks of the Sarband hydroelectric power station in the south of the country (Levakand). At the present moment, the 4th and 5th power units of the HPP have been completely reconstructed and repair works on the 2nd and 6th  units completed. Currently, the reconstruction of power unit №3 is underway. The expected capacity of the hydroelectric power plant is from 240 to 270 MWt.

"Sarband HPP is an important and strategic facility of the country, at the same time,  along with the reconstruction of other existing hydropower facilities will give a new impetus to achieving energy independence," said Emomali Rahmon during his speech at the opening ceremony of the HPP.
