Tajikistan will take part in the Central Asia conference on climate change. The Third Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2020), which was to be held on June 16-17 in Dushanbe, will be held in online format.

The CACCC-2020 conference starts from October 19 to 23 and is organized within the framework of the project "Program for Adaptation and Mitigation of Climate Change in the Aral Sea Basin". It is a continuation of the World Bank's initiative to share knowledge and information on climate change in Central Asia, which was launched in 2013.

The purpose of the conference is contributing to strengthening regional dialogue on climate change and sustainable development through information and knowledge exchange in Central Asia. Another challenge is to raise awareness among countries in the region of the lessons learned related to climate change and the pandemic (COVID-19).

It is expected that CACCC-2020 will end with the presentation of the final document, which will lay the foundations for the formation of a common regional vision of the Central Asian countries in the field of climate change.

The program includes thematic sessions discussing the consequences of climate change and the formation of climate policy in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, issues of financing climate change measures, development of climate monitoring as well as improvement of climate services will be discussed.

The conference will be broadcast live on the website www.carececo.org from October 19-23.
