Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan addressed to the Parliament

President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon outlined the main directions of the country's domestic and foreign policy in his Message to the Majlisi Oli, held on January 26, 2021.

Referring to emerging processes in the world and the impact of the pandemic, President ordered to focus its efforts to combat emerging crises, widely use financial resources for the development and diversification of the economy. It is required to encourage the introduction of digital technologies into the economy, to liberalize private sector's access to financial resources and to lay the foundations for the implementation of a “green economy”, taking into account climate change.

Digitization of the national economy, support for business, attraction of national capital to economic sectors, adoption of a new tax code in a new edition with the participation of the private sector, cancellation of the taxes for the farmers, strengthening the role of women in society, increasing attention to youth generation among the projects intended for the following year.

The Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan will be established to strengthen the institutional foundations of the digitalization of the economy throughout the country, and thus, to accelerate the implementation of "e-government".

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan noted that due to the rapidly changing conditions and tensions of the modern world in 2021, first of all, more attention will be paid to the domestic potential and capabilities of the country, their effective usage, the commissioning of new capacities and ensuring sustainable economic development. Pharmaceuticals and their further development in Tajikistan, the development of the mining industry along with the protection of the environment, were also touched upon by the President of the country in his Message.

Presenting the foreign policy of Tajikistan, President Emomali Rahmon mentioned that, following "Open Doors" Policy, the issues of strengthening and expanding multifaceted cooperation with the European Union and other international organizations remain among the priority foreign policy tasks of Tajikistan in following year.
