Meeting with the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov

On January 29, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Mr. Imangali Tasmagambetov, who arrived in Dushanbe on a working visit.

During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues of cooperation within the CSTO. At the same time, they exchanged views on the current situation in the Organization's area of responsibility and its surroundings. Current issues of the regional and international agenda were also touched upon.

The Leader of the Nation particularly emphasized the importance of the timely implementation of the CSTO Interstate Targeted Program on Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border, which was approved by the CSTO Collective Security Council on November 28, 2024 in Astana, and expressed confidence that effective cooperation in this area will contribute to ensuring regional security.

During the talks, attention was also paid to further enhancement of comprehensive work within the Organization to counter security threats and challenges, including terrorism, extremism, manifestations of radicalization, drug trafficking, cybercrime, and transnational organized crime.
