Meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs

On March 21, 2025 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua.

During the meeting the key issues of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) were discussed, including joint initiatives aimed at promoting the three main components of sustainable development: social, economic and environmental spheres.

The parties also exchanged views on joint efforts to advance the global water agenda, including the holding of the International Conference Dedicated to Glaciers' Preservation (Dushanbe, 29-31 May, 2025) and the UN Conference on the completion of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development" (Dushanbe, 2028).
