The list of documents required for renunciation of the citizenship

of the Republic of Tajikistan

Citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan shall submit to the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan an application for renunciation of citizenship of the Republic of Tajikistan addressed to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The following supporting documents should  be attached to the application for renunciation of citizenship of the Republic of Tajikistan:

1. A document confirming the presence of citizenship of a foreign state of the applicant or a document of an authorized body of a foreign state confirming the possibility of granting him/her another citizenship in case of renunciation of the citizenship of the Republic of Tajikistan (with translation into the state language, original copy and two photocopies);

2. Documents proving the identity of the applicant and confirming the citizenship of the Republic of Tajikistan (three photocopies of the domestic passport and foreign passport);

3. Document confirming that the applicant is no longer registered at the place of residence in the Republic of Tajikistan (in case of absence of that information in the applicant’s passport);

4. Birth certificate (three photocopies);

5. Marriage certificate - if applicable (three photocopies);

6. Document of a tax authority of the Republic of Tajikistan on the absence of tax arrears (original copy and two photocopies);

7. Document of an internal affairs authority on the absence of criminal records (original and two photocopies);

8. Document confirming the non-receipt of the summons for military service – if applicable (original copy and two photocopies);

9. Documents on labor activity and / or higher education of the applicant in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan – if applicable (three photocopies);

10. Handwritten autobiography (original and two photocopies);

11. Four photos 4x6 cm on a white background;

12. Certificate of residence in the host country - with a translation into the state language (original and two photocopies);

13. A receipt on the payment of consular fee (432 Dollar);

If a person simultaneously applies for the renunciation of minor children of the citizenship of the Republic of Tajikistan, the following documents should be additionally submitted:

a) Birth certificate of a child (three photocopies);

b) Written and notarized consent of the parent (original and two photocopies);

c) a document of the authorized body of a foreign state on the possibility of granting the child another citizenship if he or she withdraws from  the citizenship of the Republic of Tajikistan (with translation into the state language, the original and two photocopies);

The applicant, shall in accordance with this order, arrange / staple all the above listed documents in three folders and submit them to the Embassy.

Note: The term for consideration of the application for renunciation of citizenship of the Republic of Tajikistan is approximately 1 year (from the moment of submitting of all necessary documents).
