Meeting of the Ambassador of Tajikistan with the Secretary General of the International Parliamentarians' Congress

On 30 June 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Yusuf Sharifzoda, met with Ms. Sitara Ayaz, Secretary General of the International Parliamentarians' Congress (IPC).

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen and expand inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. They emphasized the importance of enhancing dialogue between the legislative bodies of the two countries, promoting the exchange of parliamentary experience, and strengthening cooperation within regional and international organizations.

The parties also discussed the organization of joint events involving representatives of political, academic, and expert circles as part of the commemorative activities dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Yusuf Sharifzoda briefed the Secretary General on Tajikistan's achievements during the years of independence, the country's foreign policy pursued under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, as well as Tajikistan's international initiatives in the areas of water, glacier, and the strengthening of global peace and stability.

For her part, Ms. Sitara Ayaz expressed the International Parliamentarians' Congress's readiness to further develop cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan by promoting parliamentary diplomacy, facilitating the exchange of experience, implementing joint initiatives, and organizing international events.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing mutually beneficial cooperation and further strengthening relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Parliamentarians' Congress.
