On June 25, 2022 in Kyiv, in the building of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan, a solemn meeting was held dedicated to the Day of National Unity and the 30th anniversary of the XVI Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Tajik community of Kyiv, Odessa, Dnieper, Poltava and Kharkov regions, Ukrainian guests.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Ukraine Davlatali Nazrizoda in his speech congratulated the audience on the Day of National Unity and spoke about the significance of the XVI Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan and the General Agreement on the establishment of peace and national accord in Tajikistan in modern history - in the period of state independence of Tajikistan. It was emphasized that thanks to the direct efforts of the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, peace and complete political stability were achieved, with the signing of the General Agreement on Peace and National Accord in Tajikistan, the civil war ended, measures for post-conflict economic recovery, national reconciliation and universal unity were gradually implemented the people of the republic.
The Ambassador also informed about the current development of the country, in particular, the implementation of the strategic goals set by the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E.Emomali Rahmon, emphasizing that all these successes were achieved thanks to the unity of society and sustainable peace in the country.
The Tajik diplomat also noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Ukraine, and over this period, more than 90 agreements and other documents on cooperation were signed between the two countries in order to deepen and expand friendly relations and cooperation. He stressed that the cooperation between the two countries covers many areas, among which the most important are hydropower, health, science, education, industry and agriculture. The Ambassador noted that 30 percent of the equipment of Tajik hydroelectric power plants, including two units of the «Roghun» HPP, was produced by Ukrainian industrial enterprises.
Ukrainian guests of the event - Deputy for International Relations of the Head of the Ukrainian Fund of Culture named after Boris Oleinik, Doctor of Arts, Professor Andrey Gorchakov, Head of the Kyiv organization of the Society "Knowledge" of Ukraine, Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, Professor Vasily Nevolov, Vice President of the Association of Pathophysiologists of Ukraine, Honored figure of science and technology of Ukraine, doctor of medical sciences, professor Ruslan Vastyanov speaking to the audience, congratulated the staff of the Embassy, representatives of the Tajik diaspora in Ukraine and the people of Tajikistan on the Day of National Unity.
After the official part, the compatriots took part in sports competitions in chess, table tennis and billiards.
