Meeting of the Ambassador of Tajikistan with the President of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine

On January 16, 2024 Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Ukraine Davlatali Nazrizoda met with the President of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine Yaroslav Gadzalo.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the state of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Ukraine in the sphere of science and education, training of agricultural specialists, exchange of experience in the sphere of agriculture and cooperation of scientists and specialists in this sphere.

Y. Godzalo gave information about the history of the Academy and its contribution to the development of the country's economy, gave many examples about the achievements of science in obtaining new and high-yielding varieties of wheat, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, fruit trees such as apples, grapes, walnuts, implementation of science in production, new developments in the use of drip irrigation.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan emphasized that the main water resources of the Central Asian region are formed on the territory of Tajikistan, and the republic occupies a worthy place in green energy production in the international arena. He also noted that consideration of fresh water issues is one of the priorities of the country's foreign policy, and in this context, five international initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan were supported by the international community.

The parties considered it necessary to exchange experience of specialists in the field of water and agriculture of Tajikistan and Ukraine, taking into account the use of professional experience of Ukrainian specialists in this field, as well as organization of mutual visits of sectoral delegations from both countries.
