Meeting of the Ambassador of Tajikistan with the Supreme Mufti of Ukraine

On January 18, 2024 the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Ukraine Davlatali Nazrizoda met with the Supreme Mufti of Ukraine, head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine Sheikh Ahmed Tamim.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan spoke about the achievements of Tajikistan during the years of independence, the place and role of religion in the state system and Tajik society, the activities of the Council of Clergy of Tajikistan, as well as cooperation between Tajikistan and Ukraine, paid special attention to cooperation with the Tajik Diaspora in Ukraine.

It was especially noted that the Concept of State Policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of religion was adopted in 2018 in order to define the tasks and priority directions of the state policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of religion, taking into account the national interests of the country.

During the conversation Sheikh Ahmed Tamim told about his participation in the conference dedicated to the 1310th anniversary of Abu Hanifa Numan ibn Sabit - the Great Imam under the title "The essence of tolerance of the teachings of the Great Imam and the state of religion in the country", which was held on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2009 in the city of Dushanbe and highly appreciated it.

Then the parties exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine and the Council of Clergy of Tajikistan, training of citizens in religious educational institutions, ways to combat religious extremism and other issues of mutual interest.

It should be noted that the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine was established in 1992 and today is the largest Muslim organization in the country.
