International celebration of Nawruz in Kyiv

On April 20, the Tajik teahouse «Rohat» in Kyiv hosted a solemn gathering on the occasion of the international holiday of Nawruz with the participation of countrymen living in Ukraine and Ukrainian guests.

At the celebration of Nawruz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Ukraine Davlatali Nazrizoda congratulated the audience on the occasion of the ancestral New Year - Nawruz and reminded them that Nawruz, which is a symbol of the revival of nature, the celebration of life and the beauty of spring, has now significantly expanded its geography and is recognized as an integral part of the cultural heritage of all mankind.

In conclusion, the Ambassador awarded some countrymen who played a worthy role in organizing cultural gatherings with letters of appreciation. Three guests of the meeting, who contributed to the development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Ukraine, were also recognized with letters of appreciation.

To present this ancient Tajik holiday, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan also presented information materials on the history, traditions and spread of Nawruz, as well as an exhibition of Tajik crafts.
