4th meeting of Tajikistan - India Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism

On September 13, 2022, the 4th meeting of the Joint Working Group of Tajikistan and India on Counter-Terrorism was held at the level of heads of structural divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs via videoconference.

During the meeting, the delegations of both sides, with the participation of representatives of the relevant structures of the two countries, held a constructive exchange of views on cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and extremism, including countering radicalization; preventing the financing of terrorism; ensuring cyber security; suppression of drug trafficking; information sharing and capacity building in this area.

Both sides also welcomed the holding of the High-Level International Conference on “International and Regional Border Security and Management Cooperation to Counter Terrorism and Prevent the Movement of Terrorists” (Dushanbe, October 18-19, 2022) and intensification of the “Dushanbe Process” in this context.

In conclusion, the sides reaffirmed their willingness to continue close cooperation between the competent authorities of the two countries in order to find ways to counter contemporary challenges and threats.
