Telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Today, a telephone conversation took place between the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the conversation, the heads of state discussed the results of the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand. In this context, the Leader of the Nation highly appreciated the organizational and content aspects of this important regional event. The President of Tajikistan thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and traditional hospitality as well as highly commended the outcomes of the meeting of the heads of state, which resulted in the adoption of a solid package of decisions and documents on various areas of the Organization's activities.

The President of Tajikistan also informed the President of Uzbekistan about the latest developments in the situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border.

The parties also discussed certain topical issues of Tajik-Uzbek relations of friendship, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance.
