On December 15, 2020, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mr. Sa’di Sharifi met with the First Deputy Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mirza Abdullah Katawazai.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the coming visit of the Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga Mr. Mir Rahman Rahmani to Tajikistan and some issues related to bilateral relations.
Mr. Katawazai stressed that the effective work of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Business Working Group between the two friendly countries could pave the way for further development of bilateral relations in all areas. He described the stability and lasting progress of Tajikistan as a sign of the fundamental efforts of the Tajik leadership and people. Mr. Katawazai added that Tajikistan has the best opportunities for Afghan businessmen and investors (from inside Afghanistan and abroad) and that this capacity should be used for the benefit of both countries.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sharifi, noted the special attention of the Government and the President of Tajikistan to Afghanistan, calling it a strong ground for the development of bilateral relations in all fields, including trade and investment.
