Meeting of the Ambassador of Tajikistan with the NATO Ambassador to Afghanistan

Tajik Ambassador to Afghanistan Sa’di Sharifi met with NATO Ambassador  (civilian representative) to Afghanistan Stefano Pontecorvo on March 13 at the Tajik Embassy in Kabul. The sides exchanged views on the security situation and the peace process in Afghanistan, the role and assistance of Tajikistan in this process, as well as the Ninth Ministerial Conference of the "Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process" (Dushanbe-30.03.21).

S.Pontecorvo praised the role of Tajikistan in the peace process in Afghanistan and praised the sincere efforts of the Tajik leadership to draw the attention of the international community to the Afghan issue.

Explaining the official position of the Tajik state on the peace process and other important issues in Afghanistan, the Ambassador of Tajikistan S.Sharifi called on the joint efforts of Afghanistan's neighbors and international partners to achieve peace and continued support of the state and people of this country. S.Sharifi noted that, taking into account the good neighborliness and common values between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, the Government of Tajikistan in all respects considers the peace and stability in Afghanistan to its advantage and supports the peace process.
