On March 16, 2021, in Kabul, a meeting was held in the framework of the "Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process" with the participation of ambassadors and representatives of member countries (15 countries) and supporting countries and organizations (28 countries and organizations). The meeting was a continuation of previous meetings to finalize the draft of Dushanbe Declaration.
Mirwais Nab, Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan and Sa'di Sharifi, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Afghanistan as representatives of the two co-chairman countries, gave the latest details on the preparations for the Ninth Ministerial Conference of "Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process" (Dushanbe-30.03.21).
Participants then discussed the Dushanbe Declaration, which is set to be adopted by Ministers in Dushanbe. After resolving the disagreements raised in the previous meeting (25.02.21), it was decided to propose a draft of the Declaration for the latest reviews to the Senior Officials Meeting of the "Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process" (Dushanbe-29.03.21) in order to be prepared for the Ministerial Conference.
