On April 29, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Afghanistan Sa'di Sharifi met with the Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan Muhammad Tahir Zahir.
The issues of expansion and strengthening of cultural relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries have been considered during the meeting. М. Zahir suggested that Tajikistan and Afghanistan pay special attention to three areas of cultural relations: a) national libraries, librarianship; b) issues of status music and folk; c) museums, exhibits and training of specialists.
According to him, Tajikistan's contribution to science, education and culture is 3% of the world's capacity, along with that of India, China, the United States, Iran, Finland and Switzerland.
S. Sharifi noted that in Tajikistan, the development and operation of cultural, scientific and educational institutions under the leadership of the President is one of the priorities of domestic policy. He noted that the holding of cultural exhibitions in each other's countries is an important factor of cooperation in the fields of library, museum and music.
It was proposed to include this issue in the agenda of the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, Social and Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
