On July 5, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Afghanistan Sa'di Sharifi met with the National Security Adviser of Afghanistan Hamdullo Muhib in Kabul. During the meeting, they discussed the situation in the border areas of Afghanistan with Tajikistan, the continuation of the conflict, and the retreat of Afghan government forces to the territory of Tajikistan.
H. Muhib thanked the leadership of Tajikistan for the reception of Afghan troops who have retreated to Tajikistan, noting that "we have always felt the warm embrace of the friendly country of Tajikistan and our Tajik brothers in difficult situations."
The Tajik Ambassador noted that in the current situation, the issues of border security and the security situation in Afghanistan are in the focus of the top leadership of Tajikistan. He added that Tajikistan wants an end to the war and a negotiated solution to the Afghan problem.
