On 7 July 2021, on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) there was held an online-meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian countries and Afghanistan. The Tajik delegation took part in this meeting headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the Afghan peace process, cooperation between the Central Asian countries and Afghanistan in addressing security challenges, as well as the need to jointly ensure the sustainable development of the region and eliminate the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed the participants on the results of the 9th Ministerial Conference of “Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process”, held in Dushanbe on 30 March 2021 and emphasized the important role played by Tajikistan in the development of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan in the spheres of economy, trade, energy and security.
