On September 7, 2021 in Kabul, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Afghanistan Sa''di Sharifi met with the acting Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Ms. Mette Knudsen.
M. Nudsen noted that the situation in Afghanistan and UNAMA's future cooperation with Afghanistan's neighbors need to be discussed. In this regard, he said that from the point of view of UNAMA, the role of Afghanistan's neighbors, which was important before, will become even more important, especially the role of Tajikistan.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan stated the official position of Tajikistan with reference to the words of the President of our country in the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan (25.08.21) and said that Tajikistan supports the establishment of a comprehensive government in the neighboring country. A government in which women's rights, individual freedoms, and the rights of other ethnic groups, especially Tajiks, who make up more than 46 percent of the Afghanistan's population, should be respected.
