On April 22, 2022, a high-level briefing on the "National Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan on Countering Terrorism and Extremism 2021-2025" and its action plan was held for the first time in UN Headquarter in New York in partnership with United Nations Office on Countering Terrorism (UNOCT) and the European Union
The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan Rahmon Yusuf Ahmadzod delivered a presentation on “National Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan on countering terrorism and extremism for 2021-2025” and its action plan. The presentation provided detailed information on the trends and prospects of the country’s regional and international cooperation in the fight against terrorism, recognizing the importance of assistance from UN Member States and UN institutions to Tajikistan in the implementation of the Strategy.

It should be noted that the representatives of Uzbekistan, OSCE, China, Oman, Australia, Tunisia, Mongolia, Paraguay, Latvia, Turkey, Singapore, Armenia, Bahrain, Iran and Morocco in their statements praised and noted the significance of the contribution and initiatives of the Government of Tajikistan in countering terrorism and extremism in the international arena.
The purpose of the event was to reflect the country’s progress and efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism in accordance with the adopted strategies and practical plans.
The event was attended by delegations of Member States and experts from UN agencies on preventing and countering violent extremism and terrorism, as well as representatives of various international, regional and specialized organizations.
