Relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Bahrain were established on May 20, 1995.

On May 27, 2014 the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. A fruitful talk was held between the President of Tajikistan and the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Oli Khalifa on the expansion of political, economic, trade, investment and cultural ties.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan has been awarded the highest state award of Bahrain “Al-Qilad al-Khalifa” (Royal Order). The King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad ibn Isa Ali Khalifa was awarded the Order of Ismail Somoni 1st degree.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Ghanim Fazl al-Baynain, participated in the Eleventh Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue, which took place on March 29, 2013 in Dushanbe. The head of the Bahraini delegation met with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad Ali Khalifa also took part in the Fifth Summit of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, which was held on June 14-15, 2019 in Dushanbe.

Eight cooperation documents in various fields have been signed between the two countries. In particular, the Joint Declaration of Tajikistan and Bahrain defines the main directions and ways of further development of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

As part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, an extensive forum of entrepreneurs and businessmen of the two countries was held, which was attended by more than 200 entrepreneurs and traders from both sides.

Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan attended the opening ceremony of the Center "Zuvor Tariq al-Lulu" and the Exclusive Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture, which took place on November 28-29, 2018 in Manama.
