On October 11-12, 2022, at the initiative of the German Federal Foreign Office, the 4th Berlin Climate and Security Conference (BCSC-2022) was held. Tajikistan was represented by the country's Ambassador of the Republic of to the Federal Republic of Germany, Imomudin Sattorov.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Berbock and a number of high-level officials of foreign countries.
During the two panel sessions Regional Resilience: Examples of Climate-Security operation from South-Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia and “Towards a Green Central Asia: Preventive and stabilizing climate foreign policy” issues of further cooperation and development of new projects for the countries of the region and Germany were discussed.
In separate meetings of the Ambassador of Tajikistan with the conference participants the global initiatives of the our country in the field of water and climate, the process of the implementation of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development" 2018-2028, preparations for the United Nations Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the implementation of the objectives of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 (New York, 22-24 March 2023), the announcement of 2025 as the International Year for the Preservation of Glaciers, setting of a date for World Glacier Day and the importance of creating a special International Fund for Glaciers were stressed.
The conference was attended by foreign ministers, state secretaries of relevant ministries and agencies of various countries, representatives of international and regional organizations, research institutes, as well as stakeholders in the field of environmental protection, water resources and disaster risk reduction.
