The 9th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the «Central Asia + Japan» Dialogue

On December 24, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin took part in the 9th Meeting of Foreign Ministers «Central Asia + Japan» Dialogue.

During the meeting, which was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Hayashi Yoshimasa, issues of expanding cooperation between Central Asia and Japan, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the region and the strengthening of international and regional relations were discussed.

In his speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs S.Muhriddin noted that Japan is one of the important partners of Tajikistan in the field of development, and our constructive cooperation with Japan contributes to the implementation of the measures of the Government of Tajikistan to improve the welfare of the people and ensure the sustainable development of the country.

In 2004, the Government of Japan established the «Central Asia + Japan» Dialogue to strengthen and expand regional cooperation. Within the framework of «Central Asia and Japan» Dialogue, 8 meetings of Foreign Ministers, 15 meetings of senior officials at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers, 11 intellectual dialogues (Tokyo Dialogue), as well as 7 expert meetings and 2 business dialogues were held.
