Humanitarian aid on behalf of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the affected people of the Syrian Arab Republic

On February 21, 2023, on the initiative and direct instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon humanitarian aid consisting of food, blankets, beds, medical supplies, and other basic necessities in the amount of 55 tons was delivered by two planes to Damascus for the people who were affected by the earthquake in the Syrian Arab Republic.

It should be noted that the aid was received at the International Airport of Damascus by the Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Environment of Syria Moutaz Douaji and a special commission consisting of the authorities of the Syrian Arab Republic. From the side of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda officially handed over the humanitarian aid to the Syrian side.

During the press conference at the Damascus Airport in the presence of a wide range of journalists and Syrian media, the Ambassador expressed the message of condolences of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon to the leadership and people of the Syrian Arab Republic due to the severe earthquake in this country.

It was mentioned that Tajikistan, on the basis of friendly relations with the Syrian Arab Republic, is on the side of the affected people of Syria in these very difficult moments, and today's aid is a sign of the attention and benevolent policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Environment of this country Moutaz Douaji, on behalf of the Government and the people of Syria expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for such a timely action and extending a generous hand in such a difficult time, and stated that this aid was given at a very necessary time. It was emphasized that the Syrian side will never forget this noble action of Leader of the Nation, and this initiative increased the appreciation of the Syrian Government and people towards the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
