Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan with the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization

On 22 September 2023, in New York the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization Mr. Peteri Taalas.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to climate change, hydropower, environmental protection, the study of glaciers and their research.

Minister Muhriddin also introduced the WMO Secretary-General with the goals and objectives of the initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan - the International Year of Glaciers' Preservation-2025 and called for strengthening cooperation in the framework of this initiative.
