Bilateral relations of Tajikistan with Czech Republic

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Czech Republic were established on June 5, 1992.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan (with residence in Tashkent) is Mr. Lubomir Frebort.

The most important political events in Tajik-Czech relations were official visits of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon to the Czech Republic in 2002, 2004 and 2016, which gave a new impetus to the relations between two countries.

In 2014 in the framework of the working visit to Sochi the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the President of the Czech Republic H.E. Mr. Miloš Zeman.

In 2014, President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman paid an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.

In 2016, in Prague, the first meeting of the Permanent interagency working group of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Czech Republic on economic and industrial cooperation took place.  

The Republic of Tajikistan and the Czech Republic use political consultations and the Permanent interagency working group of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Czech Republic on economic and industrial cooperation as an important mechanism for strengthening comprehensive relations.

Legal base of bilateral relations includes 13 documents on cooperation in the field of economy, trade, science and technology, investment, health and fight against crime.

The volume of trade between Tajikistan and Czech Republic in 2022 amounted to 5.3 millions of USD.
