First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs received copies of Credentials from the Ambassador of Canada

On January 31, 2025, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Ismatullo Nasredin received copies of the Credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of Tajikistan (with residence in Astana) Mr. Christopher Duggan.

During the talks, the parties emphasized the need to intensify mutually beneficial relations between Tajikistan and Canada in various areas, including strengthening political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, development assistance, attracting Canadian investment in priority sectors of the country’s economy, as well as promoting the expansion of humanitarian ties and jointly countering security challenges. In addition, the interlocutors touched upon topical issues on the regional and international agenda.

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs wished the Ambassador of Canada success in his further diplomatic activities in Tajikistan.
