Meeting of the Consultative Council of Heads of Consular Services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the CIS Member States

On May 28, 2025, the XXXII meeting of the Consultative Council of Heads of Consular Services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states was held in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of the Tajik side.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and the Executive Committee of the CIS.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the implementation of the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of April 24, 1963, as well as bilateral consular conventions. There was also an exchange of views on cooperation within the framework of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters of October 7, 2002.

In this context, the prospects for transitioning to electronic formats in consular services, the recognition of electronic documents and electronic signatures of authorized officials of the competent authorities of the CIS member states were also considered.
