Meeting with the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Reza Arif

On May 29, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, met with the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honourable Mohammad Reza Arif, who arrived in Dushanbe on an official visit to participate in the First International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation.

The meeting discussed issues related to the development and expansion of multifaceted relations between the two countries.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing process of expanding bilateral relations between our countries and is interested in their further development.

Special attention was paid to trade and economic relations.

Strengthening cooperation in the fields of energy, oil and gas, international transportation, science and technology, agriculture, healthcare and other sectors were among the important issues discussed.

It was emphasized that interparliamentary relations play a significant role in expanding multifaceted cooperation.

The two countries' commitment to enhancing cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, was stressed.

In this context, the experience of supporting each other's initiatives within these organizations was highly appreciated.
