Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Venezuela

On June 17, 2025, political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of People’s Power for International Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela took place in Dushanbe.

The delegation of Tajikistan was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ismatullo Nasredin, and the delegation of Venezuela was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, Middle East and Oceania Tatiana Pugh Moreno.

During the consultations, which were held for the first time, issues of establishing and developing bilateral and multilateral relations between Tajikistan and Venezuela, partnership within international organizations, in particular the UN, as well as other topics of mutual interest were discussed.

Concluding the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation, strengthen direct contacts, and enhance the legal framework of relations.

As part of the consultations, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the establishment of a mechanism for political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of People’s Power for International Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

It should be noted that in October of this year, the parties will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
