On April 28, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, held a meeting with the Special Envoy of the President of the United States for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United States in the political, economic, investment and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation in the field of security. Both sides confirmed their mutual interest in further deepening the partnership and expanding practical cooperation.
The parties exchanged views on the situation in the region, emphasizing the importance of promoting stability and preventing humanitarian risks. Particular attention was paid to the need for coordinated efforts in addressing modern challenges and threats, including terrorism, extremism, and drug trafficking.
The importance of the “C5+1” regional format was also highlighted as an effective platform for dialogue and strengthening cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the United States.
In conclusion, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to further expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as to develop educational and cultural exchanges as an important foundation for long-term partnership.
