Participation of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan in the UN Security Council debate on Afghanistan

On 17 December 2018 the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations H. E. Mr. Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov participated and addressed the UN Security Council Debate on Afghanistan.

In his statement the Permanent Representative expressed Tajikistan's position on Afghanistan, and emphasized the need for better-coordinated actions and strengthening of regional cooperation towards bringing prosperity and development into the region.

Ambassador Mahmadaminov also highlighted key threats and challenges, in particular terrorism, transnational organized crime and illicit drug trafficking and expressed Tajikistan's readiness for strengthening regional cooperation and assistance in order to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan.
