Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Mirzo has payed an official visit to Pakistan from 9 to 11 April 2019. On April 9, the delegation of Tajikistan met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Zubair Mahmoud Khayat and Minister of Defense Parviz Hataq. On April 10, he arrived to the town of Pabbi and visited the National Anti-Terrorism Center, Military Academy and Pakistan manufacturing centers. On the last day, the delegation of Tajikistan met with President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, Chief of Army Kamar Javed Bajwa and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
During the talks, issues of strengthening and expanding fruitful bilateral relations in the field of military cooperation and security, ways of resolving the military-political situation in the region, advancing stability in neighboring Afghanistan, and jointly fighting international terrorism were discussed.
Meetings and negotiations took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, which contributes to giving new impetus to the development of relations in the future.
