Celebration of the Independence Day of Tajikistan in London

On September 9, 2019, on the occasion of the celebration of 28th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, an official reception by the Embassy was organized in one of the most prestigious hotels in London.

The event was attended by many guests, including the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of UK state departments and ministries, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the UK, members of Parliament, private sector, media, Tajik students and compatriots living in Britain.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan at the beginning welcomed all guests and highlighted big achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan in the period of Independence which have been realized under the wise policy of the Founder of the Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. He also underlined the role of these achievements in the process of ensuring peace and stability, implementation of goals of sustainable development and improving the welfare of the population. In addition, the launching of the Second Unit of the Roghun Hydropower Plant was highlighted as a new major achievement of the country in 2019.

Further, during the event, Ambassador announced the establishment of the Tajik-British Chamber of Commerce. On the occasion of the Years of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts in Tajikistan an exhibition of paintings reflecting historical sites and unique nature of Tajikistan and the performance of Tajik musical instruments were organized as well.
