On 1 July 2021, in Washington DC, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with the Secretary of State of the United States of America Antony Blinken.
During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United States in the political, economic, energy, security, tourism, health and humanitarian spheres, cooperation within the framework of USAID programs, as well as joint efforts to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection. They also exchanged views on international and regional cooperation.
With regard to the situation in the region they noted the need to strengthen cooperation in the joint efforts to fight against modern threats and challenges, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and other transnational organized crime.
