On 29 July 2021, the Fourth session of the Joint Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation was held in a virtual mode. The delegations were led by the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Qodirzoda Saadi and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE for Economy and Trade Affairs Mr. Abdul Nasser Al-Shaali.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the UAE in the economic, trade, investment, tourism, agricultural, aviation areas, strengthening the legal framework, cooperation within international and regional organizations were discussed.
The Parties noted effectiveness of the establishment of regular contacts for the development and expansion of bilateral relations. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan and the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry on the establishment of a Business Council was signed, which would serve as a necessary basis for strengthening and expanding trade cooperation.
