On 20 October 2021, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan met with Mr. Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed actual issues of bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation.
The interlocutors noted the important role of existing instruments of bilateral relations, including the Joint Tajik-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in expanding and strengthening multilateral cooperation between two countries.
In the meeting, special attention was paid to regional security issues, the difficult situation in Afghanistan and the fight against modern threats.
At the end of the meeting, the ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field diplomatic training between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
