On August 9, the sixth Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia was held in the city of Astana of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhammedov, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the sixth Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia.
The heads of state discussed a wide range of pressing issues of regional cooperation.
During his speech, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, drew the attention of the heads of state of Central Asia to issues of cooperation for the further expansion of trade and economic relations, the development of separate programs in the fields of agriculture, industry and the introduction of new technologies, the implementation of large transport, infrastructure and logistics projects, the effective use of hydropower resources, the enhancement of cultural and humanitarian spheres and other important issues.
The President of our country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of cooperation in the region during the last six years, calling it all the result of the strong political will of the leaders of the countries.
Our Head of State stated that in the current conditions of rapid changes in the world, it is necessary to form a unified vision of the future of Central Asia.
Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon emphasized that in the past consultative meetings more than a hundred suggestions and initiatives were put forward, which are being considered and have a long-term nature. The implementation of each of them increases the potential for joint development.
During the last five years, the trade turnover in the region has increased by more than eighty percent and exceeded 10 billion US dollars.
The President of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, stated that if the existing capacity is effectively used, the turnover in the region can reach 20 billion US dollars in the near future.
Tajikistan proposed to hold the first meeting of the ministers of industry of the Central Asian countries next year in Dushanbe.
Holding of exhibitions - "Expo-Central Asia" in the framework of consultative meetings every year was considered useful.
Strengthening cooperation in the fields of e-commerce, digital technologies and energy, especially "green" energy, was called a key basis for the development of "green" economy in the region.
Against the background of intensifying global threats and dangers, our Head of State proposed to design new effective forms of cooperation in the field of security.
Honorable Emomali Rahmon considered it necessary to establish mechanisms of close cooperation of law enforcement agencies.
Based on the results of the sixth Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia, the following documents were adopted:
- Joint Statement of Heads of the Central Asian states on the results of the sixth Consultative Meeting of Heads of the Central Asian states;
- Concept of the development of regional cooperation "Central Asia-2040";
- Roadmap for the development of regional cooperation for 2025-2027;
- Resolution of the sixth Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia "On awarding Mirziyoyev Sh.M., President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the "Medal of Honour of the Heads of Central Asian States";
- Plan of industrial cooperation of Central Asian states for 2025-2027;
- Memorandum of understanding on the development of transport and logistics centers in Central Asian countries;
- Astana Communique of the sixth Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia;
- Communique on the results of the first meeting of energy ministers of Central Asian countries.
The second part of the meeting was held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who was invited as the guest of honor, and the special representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kakha Imnadze.
Also, with the participation of the Heads of State of Central Asia, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was awarded in a solemn atmosphere with the "Medal of Honour of the Heads of Central Asian States".
