In accordance to MoU on consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India on 7 August 2006 the foreign offices of two countries have agreed to start political consultations.
The foreign offices of the both countries will hold periodic consultation and exchange information regarding all aspect of the bilateral relations, especially in the areas of political, commercial, scientific, technological, cultural, education and defence cooperation. Additionally, they will exchange opinions regarding the regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The 4th round of political consultations between foreign offices of Tajikistan and India was held in New Delhi on December 19, 2018.
A consular consultation mechanism is functioning between the two countries and its 1st round has been held in Dushanbe on June 7, 2019.
